Having a clear and commonly understood set of policies is essential for the success of any organisation.

This code of conduct can be used as it stands, or it can be adapted to suit the needs of your business.

In seven plain English pages it covers sick and annual leave polices, computer usage policies, health and safety, disciplinary, training and development, harassment, drugs and alcohol and equal opportunities etc.

The code of conduct can be used in conjunction with the employment agreement and form part of the overall terms of employment. However, the advantage of having these items separate from the employment agreement is that a code of conduct is easier to change and update in accordance with the changing needs of the business. Significant changes still need to be consulted about, but changing the vast majority of items in the code of conduct would not constitute significant change.
